“As we’ve come to realise, the idea that security starts and ends with the purchase of a pre-packaged firewall is simply misguided.”
This CPD course examines the growing problem of cybersecurity in financial services organisations in Australia and organisations across the world.
We look at the most common information security risks and breaches – including direct observation, malware viruses, phishing, identity theft, spam and credit card skimming – and discuss the best ways to prevent these. We also highlight what to do if there has been a successful cyberattack.
We use examples from recent news headlines and local cases – from the recent WannyCry attack to biggest and most remarkable attacks in history – to emphasise the enormous scale and prevalence of the issue. Industry knowledge and overall comprehension is reinforced by short and independent research activities and practical scenarios presented throughout the course.

This training is a must for every person who works in retail and institutional stockbroking firms, along with newcomers to the industry. People working in other financial services organisations may also benefit and deepen their understanding of the issue.
