“An estimated $1.5 trillion is laundered worldwide every year, including $200 billion in the Asia Pacific region alone.”
Risks to financial services organisations
This CPD course discusses the risks that financial services organisations face in their daily operations. We discuss strategies to safeguard the organisation and its processes, for example through solid KYC (know your customer) and onboarding practises.
We also examine the problem of money laundering on both a domestic and global scale. What are the effects on local economies and its residents? There are several global initiatives that aim to tackle the problem, including sanctions, but how do they work and how do they affect you in your day to day work?
We use examples from recent news headlines and local cases to emphasise the importance of the issue. Industry knowledge and overall comprehension are reinforced by short, independent research activities and practical scenarios presented throughout the course.
Who is this training for?
This training is a must for every person who works in retail and institutional stockbroking firms, along with newcomers to the industry. People working in other financial services organisations may also benefit and deepen their understanding of the issue.
