“The value of frauds has increased by almost 8 times against financial institutions.”
(KPMG Fraud Barometer)
This CPD course examines the growing problem of bribery and corruption in financial services organisations in Australia. It looks at the prevalence on a domestic scale but also outlines what is happening internationally. There are several global initiatives that aim to tackle the problem, but how do they work – and DO they work?
We look at the various types of bribes – including kickbacks, facilitation payments and intangible goods – and discuss the best ways to recognise and deal with these.
We use examples from recent news headlines and local cases to emphasise the importance of the issue. Industry knowledge and overall comprehension are reinforced by short, independent research activities and practical scenarios presented throughout the course.
Who is this training for?
This training is a must for every person who works in retail and institutional stockbroking firms, along with newcomers to the industry. People working in other financial services organisations may also benefit and deepen their understanding of the issue.
