Modern Slavery Seminar

September 25 @ 11:45 am - 2:00 pm AEST

We are having a lunchtime seminar presentation on Australia’s new Modern Slavery legislation.

We are delighted to have Kimberley Randle, an experienced lawyer specialising in modern slavery, to speak on this very important topic. Kimberley is Chief Executive and Principal Lawyer at Fair Supply, Australia’s first law firm exclusively dedicated to partnering with organisations to implement the Modern Slavery legislation. Fair Supply has recently launched a unique technology tool drawing on over 30 years of subject matter expertise and proprietary data analytics to identify modern slavery risks in reporting entities’ supply chains and investment portfolios up to Tier 10.

We are also delighted to have Nathan Lynch, the Regional Bureau Chief, Asia-Pacific for Thomson Reuters (Financial Crime and Risk), to interview Kimberley on how organisations can ‘operationalise’ compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2018. The discussion will specifically address:

  • How to identify and address modern slavery risks in operations and supply chains;
  • How to engage with high risk suppliers;
  • How to measure effectiveness; and
  • What is considered sufficient compliance for a Modern Slavery Statement
